Broadwell returns to Charlotte home

CHARLOTTE, NC (WSOC) — Paula Broadwell, the woman named as the alleged extra-marital lover of David Petraeus, returned to her Dilworth home at 4:50 p.m. Sunday.

Petraeus, a former four-star general in the U.S. Army, resigned as Director of the CIA due to the affair.
Broadwell previously was spotted at her brother’s home D.C. home earlier in the week.

An Eyewitness News reporter was on hand to ask Broadwell and husband Scott Broadwell questions when they arrived home.

Paula Broadwell politely said, “No comment.”

The FBI searched Broadwell’s house in Charlotte on Nov. 12 with her consent.

The agents found classified documents there, which she told them to expect. After a four-hour search, the agents seized a computer and boxes of evidence. Her security clearance at suspended on Nov. 14.

Weekend checkpoint takes dozens off the highways

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A weekend checkpoint pulled more than a dozen unlicensed drivers from the roads.

Officers from UNCW, Wilmington Police, and New Hanover and Brunswick County Sheriff’s offices conducted the checkpoint Friday night in the 3200 block of Randall Parkway.

The following is a complete breakdown of charges and citations issued:

No operators license: 15
Driving while license revoked: 10
Driving while impaired: 8
Drive after consuming an impairing substance under age 21: 2
Possession of marijuana: 6
Stolen firearm recovered: 1
Miscellaneous other charges: 36

Christmas Pageant is good for local girls

LELAND, N.C. (WWAY)– Belville Elementary School hosted a christmas pageant this weekend. Local girls dressed up and showed off their hobbies and skills on stage in front the crowd. Celebrity judges including wway’s own Chris Phillips were at the event.

Co-chair of the Unity Group Connie Reaves says this is a great opportunity for local girls.

“We are excited this year to be able to offer this opportunity to so many local girls. It gives them an opportunity to participate in a community group and feel good about themselves.”

UPDATE: Marine killed in motorcycle crash
