Two dead in Bladen County car accident

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Published reports say two people are dead after a car accident in Bladen County. Highway Patrol says the accident happened on Twisted Hickory Road between Bladenboro and Elizabethtown.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Bridge lanes closed briefly Saturday at Wrightsville Beach for fireworks

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — After the Wrightsville Beach Flotilla fireworks end Saturday night (approx. 7:30 p.m.), NCDOT plans to close traffic eastbound onto the beach and allow two lanes of traffic to flow off the beach.

The current plan is to allow traffic to flow off the beach for 15 minutes and then allow traffic to flow onto the beach for 15 minutes.

Drivers heading to and from the beach during the peak period after the fireworks (30 – 60 minutes) may encounter heavy traffic on Eastwood Road, and on Wrightsville Avenue up to Eastwood Road.

Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington Police Departments will monitor the flow of traffic and modify the plan as needed.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Repairs being made to water main leak; motorists should use caution

Officials with the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority are working on an emergency repair caused by water main leak in the 700 block of Rosemont Avenue, close to the intersection of Farmers Street, according to a CFPUA spokesperson.

Annual tradition allows for NC marines to enjoy Thanksgiving meals
