Give and receive TODAY during the Salvation Army One Day Blitz

Monday, December 17th, 2012

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Each year WWAY and 103.7 The Bone join forces the Salvation Army to help you give and receive during the holidays. It’s our annual One Day Blitz to restock the Salvation Army’s food pantry.

WWAY NewsChannel 3 and 103.7 The Bone are sponsoring the event Monday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Krispy Kreme on South College Road in Wilmington. Don’t let the weather bother you. You don’t even have to get out of your car, as we’re happy to take the donations from you and put them in the bins.

It’s your chance to help others and snag free doughnuts at the same time. By donating at least five non-perishable items or making a monetary donation of at least $5, Krispy Kreme will give you a coupon for free doughnuts.

Last year the Salvation Army’s largest food drive of the year collected more than 8,300 pounds of food and more than $1,500 in monetary donations. It helped feed 4,600 people. This year, we hope to do even more to make sure the Salvation Army’s food pantry stays stocked well into spring!
