Gift wrapping gives gift of education to area women

Friday, December 21st, 2012

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — ‘Tis the season for wrapping all those gifts to put under the tree. The Wilmington chapter of the American Business Women’s Association is making it simple.

For the past 20 years, the group has held a charity gift-wrapping fundraiser. You can bring all your gifts to the booth in front of Belk’s inside Independence Mall.

Volunteer Violet Huggins says it is a quick and easy way to take some stress off yourself while helping others.

“Bring it over to us and we will wrap anything you bring in and have it ready for you when you go. And life is happy for everybody, including Santa,” said Huggins

You can bring all your gifts to the booth in front of Belk’s inside Independence Mall everyday through Christmas Eve. Every penny raised goes toward scholarships for local women.
