SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — Pender County dispatchers confirm a fire at Tiffany’s Motel in Surf City. The call came through to 911 at 3:12 a.m.

Firefighters say the motel is fully engulfed in flames.

Few details are available at this time, but WWAY has a crew on the way. Get the latest details on “Good Morning Carolina” at 6:00 a.m.

STORMTRACK 3: Severe threat over as strong storms bring power outages and some wind damage.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The severe weather event is now over. Strong and severe thunderstorms have pushed through the area causing power outages in spots, and wind damage in others. 

Now that these storms have cleared the coast, scattered showers will remain through 5 AM before clearing skies take hold through the morning hours. We will find that sunshine will re-emerge quickly after daybreak. More minor gusty winds will remain throughout the day Friday.

Throughout the night, there have been numerous reports of power outages and downed trees across southeastern NC. Trees fell across portions of Mitchell Ford Road in Clarkton and Burney Road in White Oak (Bladen County). No major injuries or fatalities were reported.
