WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A strong cold front will push into eastern North Carolina late tonight. Strong winds will be likely tonight, with gusts over 45 mph possible. A few showers will be possible during the early evening.
As the front pushes toward the coast, severe thunderstorms may develop. An isolated tornado is possible as well. The highest chance of severe weather will occur between 9 PM and 4 AM. By dawn, the storm system will be offshore.
Colder, drier air is expected Thursday and Friday.
