Monday, February 18th, 2013

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man faces several charges after he was arrested Sunday afternoon for reportedly running naked from his home and firing multiple shots at a vehicle.

Investigators say that at 2:57 p.m. Sunday afternoon 48-year-old Steven Ross may have fired shots inside of his home in the 2600 block of McClammy Street before running outside naked and attempting to shoot at a burgundy car that was driving by.

Witnesses told police that Ross then went back into the home and dressed him self and retrieved a backpack.

As police arrived on scene Ross ran away and after a short chase he was captured, but had apparently hidden his backpack, which officers never found.

Investigators say that Ross had small amounts of narcotics at the time of his arrest.

Ross is being charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, trafficking cocaine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling with a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and breaking a city ordinance.
