WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for most of southeastern NC through early Sunday morning. A brief period of snow showers occurred across several counties today, producing as much as 1.5 inches in Onslow County. Warm ground temperatures melted some of the snow, but cold air will continue to filter into the area tonight. The main batch of snow showers will push into southeastern NC between 8 PM and midnight, with additional accumulation possible.
Now – 11 PM Spotty snow showers, up to an inch in some areas. Totals will be lighter farther south and east.
After Midnight- Snow showers ending, lows in the 20s.
