Wilmington man sentenced to 21 years in prison for drug trafficking

A Wilmington man was sentenced to 252 months in prison Thursday for drug trafficking, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Officials detonate 2nd package found in storage unit

Bank heist suspect sentenced to 22 years for store robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man accused of robbing a Leland bank more than a year ago. A federal judge has sentenced Sherwin Archie to 22 years in prison, according to the US Attorney’s Office.

Last summer Archie pleaded guilty to the armed robbery of the Family Dollar store on Shipyard Blvd. in October 2011.

He was arrested days later for the robbery of the Cape Fear Credit Union in Leland.

He was sentenced as an armed career criminal today for that crime.

No word on the status of the bank robbery charge.

Men sentenced to 17 years in prison for role in 2 robberies
