BREAKING: Three injured after shooting in Wilmington

Friday, April 26th, 2013

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One person has been shot and another injured in a shooting on Clay Street in Wilmington.

It happened just before 8 p.m.

Police said they were responding to reports of guns shots fired in the area and found a green SUV leaving the scene.

Police pulled the vehicle over and discovered one of the victims in the car.

That victim, who was shot in the chest, was later transported by EMS to the hospital.

Police say both victims’s injuries are non- life threatening.

Buckshot shotgun shells were found in the yard, but police are unsure how the shells relate to the crime.

Police are still on scene investigating.

At this point they have not yet identified a suspect.
