Crews raise two more cannons from Blackbeard’s ship

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The crew of the R/V Dan Moore from Cape Fear Community College went back to the site of Blackbeard’s sunken ship today.

They helped the NC Department of Cultural Resources raise two cannons from the Queen Anne’s Revenge. The ship ran aground and sunk in Beaufort Inlet in 1718.

Archaeologists hope to raise six more cannons during the project.
