Construction crews with the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority are making emergency repairs to a collapsed sewer service on Wrightsville Avenue.
NAVASSA, NC (WWAY) — DAK Americas has called a news conference this afternoon to announce a decision about its Cape Fear Manufacturing Site in Navassa.
In February the company said it was considering shutting all or part of the facility, which employs a total of 600 full-time and contract workers. At the time a company spokesman also said the review could also mean additional investment.
Navassa Mayor Eulis Willis said he had not heard about the news conference when contacted by WWAY NewsChannel 3.
“I hope its good news,” Willis said.
Brunswick County Economic Development Director Jim Bradshaw said he did know what the announcement will be, but he said he cannot comment until after its made.
DAK Americas will make an announcement Wednesday afternoon regarding the future of its Navassa plant.
