STORMTRACK 3: Dorian falls apart; No longer a tropical storm

Saturday, July 27th, 2013

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — What used to be Tropical Storm Dorian has fallen apart, and is now just a cluster of thunderstorms.

Over the last few days, a combination of unfavorable winds and lots of dry air made for a very hostile environment for the storm, causing it to weaken.

The remnant thunderstorms will continue to push toward the Caribbean. While redevelopment isn't impossible, it is very unlikely.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Dorian is now a very disorganized storm as it drifts westward toward the Caribbean islands. Dry air and unfavorable winds have been doing a number on Dorian, and it is could very likey fall apart completely soon.

As of right now, the storm is not expected to have any impact on southeastern NC. Even if it regenerated into a strong storm, it is still at least 6-8 days away from the US mainland.

You can always see the latest tropical updates by visiting Hurricanes 101, or by downloading the free STORMTRACK 3 Mobile Weather App to your iPad, iPhone, or Android device.
