WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An ONLY ON 3 INVESTIGATION has uncovered that at least six administrative assistants within the New Hanover County School system make nearly $50,000 to more than $75,000 per year.

The highest paid, according to school records, is Stephanie Baltezegar, who is currently in a relationship with Superintendent Tim Markley, according to sources close to the situation. She’s making $75,468 a year. She received a $500 a month increase in July while she was Markley’s administrative assistant.

According to the district, there are 60 administrative assistants.

Here is a list of the other top wage earners according to a school spokeswoman:
1) Glenda White – makes $71,184 per year
2) Tabitha Adams – makes $62,208 per year
3) Donna Rosser – makes $61,108 per year
4) Susan Steffenson – makes $56,568 per year
5) Susan Hofmeister – makes $49,272 per year

Most of these salaries are higher than many teachers in the district make.

Tonight ONLY ON WWAY NewsChannel 3 at 5 & 6 p.m., we’ll ask school board president Don Hayes about these salaries and if he thinks they are in line with the jobs performed.
