WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Early voting is already underway for Nov. 5’s municipal elections. Tonight you have a chance to get to know the men running for Wilmington City Council.

WWAY NewsChannel 3 and WHQR 91.3 FM are hosting a forum featuring City Council hopefuls. Hear them voice their opinions and ambitions during the only live, locally broadcast council candidates forum. It airs at 7 p.m. on WWAY and WHQR live from WHQR’s M.C. Erny Gallery at 254 N. Front Street in downtown Wilmington.

Candidates will answer questions from WWAY News Content Manager and Political Editor Kevin Wuzzardo and WHQR News Director Rachel Lewis-Hilburn. They will also take questions from the studio audience and your e-mailed questions. Be part of the live audience or e-mail your question for the candidates to newsdirector@whqr.org.

Landfall Tradition Brings Collegiate Women’s Golf to Town This Weekend

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 2013 Landfall Tradition three-day tournament brings world class collegiate women’s golf to the Country Club of Landfall this weekend.

Nationally ranked women from universities around the country will compete in one of the largest tournaments held in the United States.

The college/am tournament raises money for the UNCW golf scholarship fund.

The event is free and open to the public.
