The N.C. Senior Tar Heel Legislature goes to work as local services are feeling the pinch.
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Five people were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after a hazmat incident at the Dupont plant on Highway 87 in Bladen County.
Emergency Management Director Bradley Kinlaw says it happened at 4 p.m.
He says one patient seemed to be in serious condition.
No word yet on what chemical was involved.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating an incident involving two juveniles and a gun near New Hanover High School this afternoon.
A New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputy at the scene told WWAY investigators were looking for shell casings near the intersection of 13th and Dock streets near the school. No one was hurt.
Later Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer said it does not appear shots were fired. Brewer said WPD took over the investigation because the incident did not happen on school property.
