Company hopes fancy set trailers will factor in drawing productions to Hollywood East

Thursday, November 21st, 2013

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Hollywood East will soon have a few new digs for actors, directors and producers to use while shooting on location around the area.

Today Basecamp Luxe unveiled two state-of-the-art trailers they hope will be used for film and television productions in and around the Port City. The vintage Airstreams have been converted into contemporary dwellings with luxury amenities like hardwood floors, granite countertops and outfitted with several flat screen TVs.

Basecamp Luxe owner Anne Wilson says with the addition of several larger set trailers to her fleet, she hopes to continue to lure more productions to our area.

“The more options there are for when people look at Wilmington or thinking about coming here on a production, the more stages, the more crew, the more equipment there is, it’s helpful and makes the decision to come here easier,” Wilson.

The Airstreams cost up to $2,000, and Wilson says they qualify for tax credits.
