Winter freeze leading to epidemic of cabin fever

Thursday, January 30th, 2014

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — After three days of being cooped up, folks around the region are ready to venture outside.

The winter weather can be fun for a little while, but now everyday tasks are becoming a hassle.

“This is actually the first day I came out,” Tiffany Justice said. “We prepared for two days worth of, you know, staying inside, and it’s lasted longer. We’ve been forced to come outside.”

Being stuck indoors has gone from relaxing to just plain inconvenient.

“We can’t get out and do what we need to do,” Justice said.

Drivers and pedestrians have to allow extra time before thinking about going anywhere.

“We aren’t prepared for this situation,” Justice said. “Our cars aren’t prepared for it.”

So if you’re getting a little stir crazy, make sure you’re very careful when going outside.
