3rd Annual Port City Ping Pong Throwdown

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Dozens of table tennis players gathered for the 3rd annual Port City Ping Pong Throwdown Tournament.

It was held at the Brooklyn Arts Center. The Wilmington Table Tennis Club hosted the event.
Food, drinks, and eight tables of double elimination competition.

“You gotta put a lot of spin on it,” Bill Stuart said. “You can actually hit it really hard and the spin will bring it down. You can swing as hard as you want as long as you hit the right angle,” the competitor said.
“You gotta practice. It takes time.”

Top winners walked away with cash prizes and of course, bragging rights.
