Walmart hiring for new grocery store in Surf City

Tuesday, February 18th, 2014

SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — Walmart is looking to hire nearly 100 workers at its new store in Surf City.

The retail giant says it will hire up to 95 people to work at its new Walmart Neighborhood Market getting ready to open this spring. Walmart Neighborhood Market is smaller than the typical Supercenter and includes a full line of groceries.

The store is hiring both full- and part-time employees. The company has set up a temporary hiring center at 13775 Highway 50. Applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can also apply online.

Walmart says through its Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months and meets Walmart’s standard hiring criteria.

Most of the people hired will begin work in April to help get the store ready for its grand opening.
