Man drives into Snow’s Cut in apparent suicide attempt

Friday, February 28th, 2014

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man is OK after apparently trying to commit suicide by driving into the Snow’s Cut Waterway, according to investigators.

New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer says the man drove into the waterway, but managed to get out of the car afterward. Brewer says the man, whose name has not been released, is OK.

Brewer says the Sheriff’s Dive and Marine Unit are on their way to make sure no one else was in the car, though deputies do not believe anyone else was involved.
