AMBER ALERT: Durham Police searching for kidnapped 10 moth-old

DURHAM, NC (WTVD) – Durham police have issued an Amber Alert for 10-month-old Tamiyah Elssy Bryant, a multi-racial female.

Police say she was taken by her father, 26-year-old Rodney Bryant. It happened around 8:15 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators believe the incident began in Angier, N.C., where the family lives and the mother was put out of the vehicle along the highway in Durham. Bryant was last seen wearing an orange coat and camouflage pants and driving along Interstate 40 West in Durham.

He was driving a white 2002 Suzuki XL7 with Washington State tag ACK-7454.

Bryant is described as a light-skinned black man, 6’0 and 220 pounds with short hair. He has tattoos on his neck of praying hands and “M.O.B,” and “Mactown” is tattooed on the back of his hands.

Police say he has made threats to kill himself and the child.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.

Calabash firefighters responded Saturday to a structure fire in Carolina Shores that destroyed the house. No injuries were reported, but a wheelchair-bound woman was rescued from the house next door.

Brunswick Co. searching for missing 16-year old

Saturday, April 19th, 2014

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is searching for missing 16 year old black female, Diamond Shorter.

She is described as 5’9″, 165 lbs, green eyes, black hair which are in braids. The top of her hair is tinted red.

She was Last seen wearing blue jeans and a South Brunswick High School track jacket.

Possibly with her sister Nakoia Evans in the Brunswick County or New Hanover County Area.

No photos are available of Diamond at this time.

Diamond is not believed to be in any danger.

The Sheriff’s office asks anyone with any information on Diamond’s whereabouts to contact Ashley DiBella at
