WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –- A Wilmington teen is charged with possession of heroin after police say he was shot in the buttocks Wednesday night.

Police say officers responded to ShotSpotters in the 1400 block of Dawson Street and 2 North Liberty Court around 11 p.m. While they were investing, they got word a teen later identified as Anthony Slaughter, was at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

They say the car he arrived in had seven bullet holes in it and he provided little information about the shooting.

While hospital staff removed the 19-year-old’s clothing, they found he had heroin.
