James, Heat top Bobcats 98-85 for 3-0 series lead

LeBron James had 30 points and 10 rebounds, and the Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 98-85 Saturday night to take a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference first round series.

Kids get moving at Healthy Kids Day

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Hundreds of folks brought their kids to Empie Park this weekend, taking advantage of the beautiful weather and getting active.

Healthy Kids Day got kids off the couch and and out the door.

The city of Wilmington and the YMCA offered dozens of outdoor activities and classes for families to choose from at no cost.

This year the “Get Fit Court” offered a variety of new classes including: family boot camp, salsa class, zumba class, and a Taikwondo Demo.

Local teams led sports stations in everything from tennis to t-ball.

Healthy Kids Day exposes children to outdoor activities in an effort to build a happier and healthier kid.

Two second-half goals lead Eagles past Hammerheads

The Charlotte Eagles defeated Wilmington Hammerheads FC 2-0 at Legion Stadium on Saturday night. Midfielders Wells Thompson and Drew Yates led the Eagles to victory with one goal each in the second half.

Blue Hens down Diamond Hawks 7-3

Doug Trimble's three hits and Alex Mottle's two doubles fueled Delaware's 14 –hit attack as the Blue Hens evened their Colonial Athletic Association series with UNCW following a 7-3 win on Saturday at Bob Hannah Stadium.
