WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — The Downtown Lifestyle Tour is set for this Saturday, April 26 from 11am to 4pm. Ten cool homes will be open for the tour including the former residence of actor Dennis Hopper, a studio once operated by actress Linda Lavin, two above the shop apartments and two newly constructed homes. Better still, the weather will be fantastic.
Advanced tickets for the tour are $15 and available by using this link. Tickets will also be available the day of the event by visiting the information booth outside of Finkelstein’s Music at 6 South Front Street.
As an added bonus, anyone buying advanced tickets will automatically be entered in a drawing for a $75 gift certificate from Bourbon Street Restaurant. The first 100 people to pick up tickets will also receive a free Bring It! Downtown tote bag.
The tour is self-guided and at your own pace. Participants can stop along the way at dozens of shops, restaurants and attractions. You can use this link for tour FAQ’s. The event is also offering a narrated tour led by former preservation planner Maggie O’Conner. Due to limited space, there is one session that will leave at 11am and a second session at 2pm. There is no extra charge for the guided tour.
“In addition to seeing cool living spaces, the tour is a great way to discover what Wilmington has to offer and savor the full Downtown experience by visiting some of the shops or grabbing a delicious bite to eat at a bistro along the way,” said WDI President Ed Wolverton. “This is also an opportunity for patrons to see how people live Downtown and envision themselves in the lifestyle,” he said.
The Downtown Lifestyle Tour is sponsored by Town and Country Real Estate, Port City Java, Coastal Cupcakes, Reel Café, the Fortunate Glass, Front Street Brewery, Plantation Builders, Bring It! Downtown, Bourbon Street Restaurant, Dock Street Printing, WECT and the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors. Wilmington Downtown Incorporated is the tour host.
