WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A weak disturbance is being monitored near the Georgia coast. The system will drift southward toward the Florida coast through Tuesday, but an approaching cold front will turn the system toward the northeast by late week (and out to sea). At this point, the center of circulation appears to stay offshore of southeastern NC. However, any deviations in track will have to be monitored closely.
As of now, the July 4 week looks seasonally hot with plenty of sunshine and a slight chance of summertime thunderstorms. The chance of rain may increase slightly Thursday and Friday due to the approaching cold front.
