3rd Point arrested for stabbing after jumping from third-story window

Tuesday, June 17th, 2014

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A third member of a Wilmington family is in custody in connection with a March stabbing.

US Marshals Service spokesman Bryan Konig says a task force arrested Antonio Point, 21, this morning in Greensboro. He’s charged with attempted murder in the March 12 stabbing of Edvis Galloway.

Konig says investigators in Wilmington got information that Point was in Greensboro. He says this morning members of a task force went to an apartment building in Greensboro, where they found Point, who Konig says jumped from a third-story window, hit the ground and ran off. Investigators tracked Point with a K9 to another apartment, where he was taken into custody.

Point is in a Greensboro hospital for observation after injuring his back jumping from the window, Konig said. He could face more charges in Greensboro for allegedly running from officers.

Point’s younger brother William, 19, was arrested the day after Galloway was stabbed and charged with attempted murder. He denied his involvement in the crime during a jailhouse interview with WWAY. Their older brother Adrian, 22, turned himself in in April to face charges.

Former Fair Bluff cop jailed on secret peeping charges

Tuesday, June 17th, 2014

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A former Fair Bluff police officer is due in court later this week on ten felony counts of secret peeping, according to court records.

Donald Brian Beauchaine, 38, is currently in custody in the Cumberland County Jail, according to online records, waiting to face his charges in Columbus County. It is not unusual for a law enforcement officer charged with a crime to be jailed in another county for safety.

Lake Waccamaw Police say there is at least one victim in the case, which involves a secret camera set up in Beauchaine’s Lake Waccamaw home, Police Chief Scott Hyatt said. The SBI is also investigating.

Beauchaine went missing for about a day after the allegations came to light, but Leland Police later found him.

Beauchaine is scheduled to be in court Thursday.
