Tuesday, June 24th, 2014

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are still on the scene of what they’re now calling ‘a critical incident that involves just one person’ off Eastwood Road.

It’s going on in at the Reserve at Mayfaire apartment complex.

Police will not say exactly what is happening, but they say there is no immediate danger to residents in the area. Police ask for the community’s patience as they try to resolve the situation.

WPD has set up a command post at a hotel nearby.

Officers have some streets in the area blocked off, including Parker Farm Road at the apartment complex. A WPD spokeswoman says she believes residents can still come and go as they need.

WWAY has a crew on the scene and will bring you more information as it becomes available.
