The trip from the Port City to the Queen City costs $57 with a discounted fare of $47 for kids, seniors, students and the disabled. The trip is cheaper between other stops on the route.

The NCDOT says intercity bus services are fixed-route, scheduled services that provide long-distance transportation between North Carolina cities, as well as connections to the national intercity bus system. Eight intercity bus routes serving communities throughout the state receive federal, state and local funds to provide transportation between rural and urban areas.

Police looking for man who stole several puppies from Wilmington home

Monday, June 30th, 2014

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are searching for a man they say stole ten puppies from inside a home before taking to Facebook to try selling the animals.

Wilmington Police say it happened early Sunday in the 100 block of Meares Street, where a woman said someone stole ten puppies from inside her home there. Officers say when she found a Facebook listing for puppies for sale, she made arrangements to meet the person to try buying her puppies back.

Police say when the woman spoke with the man who was selling the animals at the Wilmington Walmart, she noticed that they were still in the same bucket they were in when they were taken from her home. She was able to grab the puppies to take them back home with her, also taking a picture of the suspect, according to officers.

Wilmington Police have taken out warrants for the man’s arrest, charging him with both breaking and entering and larceny of a K-9.
