STORMTRACK 3 UPDATE: Strong storms possible into Saturday evening

Saturday, June 21st, 2014

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Scattered strong to severe storms are possible Saturday afternoon and evening as a cold front drops Southward over our state.

Low pressure will develop along a front oriented West to East across our state Saturday. This will act as a catalyst in thunderstorm development. These storms will move through a warm and moisture-rich atmosphere, increasing severe weather potential.

The main severe weather threats are quarter size hail and damaging winds exceeding 60 miles per hour.
