Journey across the U.S. ends in local beach

Monday, July 28th, 2014

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) – Not two months ago, 2 men started their 3900 mile journey across the country on only 2 wheels.

Go Team Manager Christian Toews says, “We thought we would do something kind of crazy to get people attention and speak to people like to you and get the message out.”

And the message was received. With so many people in the world unable to read, it was very important for T4 global founder Ed Weaver to do something about it.

Weaver explained, “We are a christian organization that focuses on getting biblical information as well as humanitarian information out to these people who can’t read.”

Weaver and Toews peddled from Washington State to Wrightsville Beach as a part of T4 Global’s endurance team known as “Go Team”. From 12,000 feet to sea level, endurance he says is the one word that sums it all up, “It is and continues to be about endurance, and never quitting. There was all sorts of opportunities to quit along the way and reasons to do so.”

It was little moment like this one when Weaver knew it was all worth it, “Some girl took a picture of us and posted it on Instagram, tagged us, googled our website, and looked us up then posted the pictures with a caption “I’m so excited about this organization, I was on my way to the gym this morning, saw this, this is what they are all about”, and I thought this is what we hoped would happen.”

A celebration and then on to the next ride.
