Man steals drugs from Wilmington pharmacy

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating an armed robbery at the CVS on South College Road and Oleander Road.

According to WPD spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay, a white male about 30 entered the store wearing a light colored, possibly blue, baseball cap and dark-colored, long-sleeved shirt with dark pants and tan boots.

Lindsay says the suspect opened the safe, took drugs and left out the side door.

Two employees chased the suspect into the parking lot. The suspect took off his shirt and put it in the passenger window of a vehicle. Police said he then went to the driver’s side and got out a gun and pointed it at the employees. The employees backed off, and the suspect drove away in a dark-colored, boxy vehicle.

Second suspect arrested for August murder

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say US Marshals have captured a second man wanted for an August murder in the Port City.

Marshals arrested Mitchell Hal Lewis, Jr., 28, of Jacksonville, Friday in Washington, DC. He is the second suspect charged in the Aug. 23 murder of Edmund Rasheed Lane, 33, and shooting of Danny Miller, 52, at the corner of 6th and Wright streets.

Investigators arrested Cordero Alexander Pridgen, 27, last week for the crimes.

Both men face charges of first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.
