Man robbed, car stolen at gunpoint

Monday, September 22nd, 2014

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One man says his car was stolen and he was robbed at gunpoint around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Reports say Wilmington Police responded to the 1200 block of Dawson Street after the victim said four men approached his car and told him to ‘give it up.’

Two of the four men pointed handguns at the victim while he gave them everything from his pockets including his car keys.

WPD Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsey says the victim ran away after being robbed and didn’t realize his car, a silver Toyota Camry Solara, was stolen until he couldn’t find it.

The victim described one of the two men with a gun as a slender young black man about 5-foot-8 and around 16-years-old with dreadlocks wearing a grey shirt. He described the other as a skinny black man also looking around 16-years-old with an afro wearing a white tank top.
