Wilmington man charged with sexual exploitation of minor

Charles Graham Yarborough, 64, of Alex Drive, is charged with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

School district employee charged with child porn

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man who works for the county school system has been charged after investigators say they found an image of a naked child on his computer.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office charged Charles Graham Yarborough with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer. He says deputies arrested Yarborough at his Alex Drive home this morning. He bonded out of jail a short time later, Brewer says.

A New Hanover County Schools spokeswoman says Yarborough is a garage foreman in the district’s Transportation Department. He has worked for the school system since 1999. She says human resources will review his employment status.

WPD: Third man shot in three days

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police officers are investigating the sixth shooting since this weekend. It’s the third time in three days someone has been shot in the city.

The latest incident happened on Evans Street after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Investigators said a man was shot in the legs, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

On Sunday, a man was shot and killed in the 1500 block of 15th Street; on Monday, another man was shot in the hand on South 11th Street.
