Yard sale benefits Pleasure Island Relief Fund

A yard sale was held this weekend to benefit families affected by last week’s deadly Carolina Beach fires. The Pleasure Island Relief Fund was formed in the wake of the tragedy by the Pleasure Island Revitalization Association.

No. 1 Kentucky rolls No. 21 North Carolina 84-70

Devin Booker and Willie Cauley-Stein each scored 15 points and top-ranked Kentucky shook off the shock of losing junior forward Alex Poythress by rolling past No. 21 North Carolina 84-70 on Saturday.

Hundreds march in Bladenboro asking for justice for Lennon Lacy

Hundreds of supporters from across the state marched through the streets of Bladenboro for local teen Lennon Lacy. Lacy was found hanging from a swing set in late August, and while the coroner and Bladen County Law Enforcement originally ruled Lacy’s death a suicide. Many questions from the family and NAACP have caused to undergo further investigation.
