New law requires owners to register mopeds

A new law going into effect on July 1, 2015 will require moped owners to register their mopeds and put a plate on the moped.The registration fee, which includes the plate, will cost $18 in New Hanover and Brunswick Counties.Moped owners will not be able to register their vehicles before July 1.
