Removal of Edgewater Club Road rock surface postponed to Monday

This Sunday NCDOT crews will remove a 500-foot temporary rock road surface that was built on Edgewater Club Road earlier this month. The temporary road was put in place to allow residents in the Porters Neck area of northern New Hanover County to use the flooded road, which is the only way out of the area by vehicle.

Excessive alcohol use drains U.S. economy

Excessive alcohol use continues to be an issue not only for New Hanover County, but for the American economy as well.According to a study done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, excessive drinking cost the U.S. $249 billion in 2010, or $2.05 per drink.
