Cole and Glaeser join Hammerheads staff

Wilmington Hammerheads FC announced today that two former players will join their coaching and training staff for the upcoming 2016 USL regular season. Matt Glaeser has been appointed assistant coach and Troy Cole will be the team’s new athletic trainer and sports science director.

Flemmings’s 28 points leads Seahawks past Elon 91-82

Junior guard Chris Flemmings exploded for a career-high 28 points and senior guard Craig Ponder poured in 21 as UNCW blew past Elon, 91-82, in Colonial Athletic Association men’s basketball Thursday at  Alumni Gym.

Leland store to close after recent break-in

A Leland surf and skate store is closing its doors after a break-in earlier this week. Daniel Galusha, owner of Brunswick Skate and Surf in Leland, said the theft was the final straw in a string of bad luck that he said leaves him with no other choice. "I spent a lot of time and money trying to make it work and it just feels like its surviving but not really going anywhere," Galusha said.
