UNCW men’s basketball beats James Madison 78-73, shares first-place spot

Junior guard Chris Flemmings scored 23 points, including four critical free throws in the final 21 seconds, and grabbed 13 rebounds to power UNCW over James Madison, 78-73, in a matchup of two of the Colonial Athletic Association’s top three men’s basketball teams Thursday at the JMU Convocation Center.

Suspect in fatal crash at Christmas time behind bars

A Wilmington man who was involved in a fiery crash days before Christmas, killing one person, is now spending time in jail. Richard Joseph Constantineau Jr. was placed in the Pender County Jail Thursday under a $500,000 bond Thursday.
