$2 million bond for Goldsboro man facing heroin trafficking charges

After three months of investigation by detectives with the Wayne County Drug Unit, a 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged with selling heroin in Wayne County.

First at Four: Commander, crew from USS North Carolina visit Wilmington

It’s one of the most popular attractions in our area, the USS North Carolina Battleship. But it’s not the only vessel to carry that name. The current boat is the USS North Carolina (SSN 777), a Virginia-class fast-attack submarine based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Its crew visited Wilmington this week.

Cell phone repair shop shuts down following WECT investigation

A cell phone repair shop exposed by WECT for doing business against a court order is now closed. Wilmington Geeks is closed indefinitely, according to a sign posted on the door, effective July 8, 2016. The other stores the operators were tied to, Paradise Cellular Repair and uCrackiRepair, are also closed. Designated smoking areas will be set at Calabash park during events
