The First Baptist Church of Leland hosted its 6th annual school supply drive Saturday morning. Donations came in from local businesses and church members. Volunteers, including youth members of the church, handed out supplies at tables throughout the morning. Family Pastor Joshua Reilly says children in the church raised about $700 to buy supplies for the drive.
A front-to-back weekend washout isn’t expected, but you’ll want to keep an eye to the sky as scattered showers and storms will be possible through Sunday. The weather stays a bit unsettled with several fronts approaching the region and stalling over the area.
