Southport Fire Department to host day of remembrance for 9/11

The Southport Fire Department will host a morning of remembrance for 9/11 on Saturday, September 10 at their North Howe Street Fire Headquarters.  The event will take place from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. with an honor guard ceremony by the Southport Fire Department Honor Guard starting at 10 a.m. for all the lives lost on September 11.  After the ceremony there will be station tours, activities for all ages as well as refreshments available for sale.  Copyright 2016 WECT….

Wrightsville leaders approve permit for new hot dog restaurant

Wrightsville Beach leaders approved the permit a new hot dog restaurant needed to open in Wrightsville Beach on Thursday. Charlie Grainger’s restaurant plans to move into the space the Wrightsville Beach Art Company is currently leasing. The local restaurant franchise is known for its hot dogs and brisket. Driver involved in fatal motorcycle wreck indicted on multiple charges

The man accused of leading Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase through Brunswick and New Hanover counties that resulted in a fatal motorcycle crash has been indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges.
