Work on Riverfront Park and Market Street to continue

The Coast Guard is working on a short term solution to fix a portion of the riverfront edge near the Riverwalk that collapsed after the US Coast Guard’s bulkhead underneath failed.  The area is next to another Coast Guard section that failed a couple years ago and has already been slated for repair when the Coast Guard can secure federal funding.  They will continue to try and identify a long term solution to the bulkhead.  Currently there is not timetable for the ne…

Local African American leaders to be recognized at City Hall

The City of Wilmington’s Commission on African American History will recognize five "living legends" on Saturday, August 10.  The event will take place at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 102 N. 3rd Street.  Seats for the public have already been filled.
