Thousands cast ballots on first day of early voting

The first day of early voting in North Carolina drew thousands of people to the polls in New Hanover County. As of Thursday afternoon, Board of Elections Director Derek Bowens said 4,076 people voted across all precincts. Friends, childhood mentor remember life of Tabor City man recovered from lake

The body of a missing Tabor City man was recovered from Lake Tabor Thursday morning. According to Capt. Greg Sibbett with the Tabor City Police Department, the body of Timothy Avis Coleman was located shortly after 8 a.m.
