Hurricane Matthew has left many farmers in southeastern North Carolina hurting. Peanut crops especially have been damage or water soaked due to strong winds and rain. In Bladen County the peanut crops are waterlogged causing them to germinate early, and then in addition rains have also soaked the fields so the tractors and harvesters are getting stuck in the fields so they are unable to pull the peanuts from the vine.
