Hurricane Matthew-related river flooding has been and continues to be heartbreaking. But, having had several dry days since Matthew and with the promise of more rain-free days this week, the slowly-improving situation will likely continue to improve.
A sprawling warm and dry high pressure system will continue to control our weather through Thursday. A sharp buckle in the jet stream will force a potent cold front through the region Friday. After the front, a much cooler autumnal air mass will envelop the region for the weekend.
