Salvation Army’s Christmas Center in full swing

More than 5,000 families are getting a helping hand this season thanks to the Salvation Army. Hundreds stopped by the Christmas Center on Tuesday to pick up toys for kids right here in our area. The center has been in the works for months, and volunteers have been hard at work sorting toys for weeks. Toys have already been distributed in Columbus, Pender and Bladen Counties. Brunswick County sees construction permit increase in 2016

According to Brunswick County officials, the number of construction permits issued in 2016 was the highest 2007, and they’re on track to issue even more in 2017.  Officials said this year there were 318 commercial construction and 2,077 residential construction permits, for a total of 2,395 construction permits.
