Veteran: Why aren’t county flags at half-staff to commemorate Pearl Harbor anniversary?

A few veterans reached out to us after noticing flags were not flying at half-staff in New Hanover County today, on the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. We asked about it and the county adjusted the flags.

Pearl Harbor ceremony honors veterans

A day that lives in infamy was remembered Wednesday on its 75th anniversary. A Pearl Harbor Commemoration ceremony was held at the Hannah Block Historic USO to remember those who lost their lives during the attacks, and honor all veterans who have served their country. Wilmington Police Department recognizes promotions and awards

More than 30 Wilmington Police Officers were awarded and promoted for their hard work on Wednesday. Deputy Chief Mitch Cunningham opened the ceremony at City Hall.
