As a home business, it does not operate with set business hours, it operates around the needs of the guests.
 The house was built by New Hanover County’s Register, Murdock McKay (1775-1843)and his wife Jane McMurphy (1775-1847), a native of Scotland. Their son Kenneth Murchison McKay updated it to the popular Italianate style in 1870. Dr. William H. Green, a Wilmington druggist, purchased the property in 1878 and added the north Queen Anne Style wing in 1890. Recently renovated, the home features four distinctive porches. The home offers an elegant yet tranquil feeling, where you can relax in luxury.
4 Porches Bed and Breakfast
offers four beautiful rooms available. Each room offers a high-speed
internet connection, TV with DVD player, robes, hairdryers and
off-street parking. There is a small collection of DVDs available.
Every morning a fresh gourmet breakfast is served along with pastries,
coffee and fruit. Smoking on the porches is allowed. Children are
welcome as are well-behaved animals as long as they are not a
disturbance to the other guests.
